Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Director to join our team in Monaco.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the company's financial
operations, reporting and infrastructure as we scale. The ideal candidate will be a handson finance leader with strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills and a
passion for building high-performing teams and systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
o Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end closings, for all companies in the group (currently, Dubai and Monaco).
o Produce timely and accurate financial statements.
o Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards.
• Audit & Compliance:
o Lead and manage the annual audit process with external auditors (experience in this area is mandatory).
o Maintain a high standard of financial governance and compliance, in coordination with auditors and tax advisors.
• P&L & Trade Reporting:
o Oversee daily and monthly trade P&L reporting.
o Work closely with the trading and operations teams to reconcile trades and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Payments & Treasury:
o Supervise all outgoing payments, monitor cash positions and manage treasury operations.
o Implement a reliable system to produce on demand cash flow forecasts.
o Collaborate with the dedicated banking relationship manager to ensure smooth processing and credit management.
• Systems Implementation:
o Evaluate and implement a scalable accounting/ERP system suitable for a trading business.
o Design and enforce financial controls and reporting procedures.
• Strategic Financial Support and Forecasting:
o Support the executive team with financial insights, forecasts, and strategic decision-making.
o Develop budgets and financial forecasts, including by analysing historical data, identifying trends, and providing insights for effective resource allocation.
• Team Management:
o Lead and mentor two junior finance staff.
o Define roles, set performance targets and support their professional development.
Professional finance qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably in commodities, oil trading, shipping or related sectors. Demonstrated experience in managing external audits and working with international audit firms.
Fluent in English (both written and spoken). A fluent level of French is preferred.
Strong understanding of P&L reporting in a trading context, accounting principles, and compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with timesensitive deliverables.
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Experience in team management and implementing accounting/ERP systems.
Prior experience in small to mid-sized, high-growth companies is a strong advantage.
Role has room to grow into group CFO position with time.
Ideal starting date of June 2025.
Very attractive salary based depending on experience
