Your future responsibilities :
Bostik, the Arkema group's adhesives segment, is looking for its future Global Consumer Category Manager for its Head Office in Colombes (92). Reporting to the Global Consumer Category Director, your objectives will BE to build and monitor the category strategy across all consumer channels, define the margin level and price positioning of the category, participate in the NPD roadmap in collaboration with R&D, other SUs and regions/countries.
You will BE responsible for the management, development and maintenance of products within the category for consumer distribution channels.
You will BE responsible for designing and redesigning packaging for consumer products, managing the roll-out of innovation globally, aligning POS best practice to the global consumer products market, advising regions/countries on execution excellence, supporting new market development.
In this role, your tasks will BE as follows :
Strategy by category/channel :
- To contribute to the five-year strategic plan by translating IT into annual global roadmaps, in collaboration with the regions/countries.
- Monitor the annual roadmap with the regions/countries.
- Measure key performance indicators and monitor progress in the regions/countries.
- Visit regions/countries to keep abreast of market developments
- Visit trade shows
Managing categories :
- Monitor SVM targets and define corrective action plans if necessary.
- Participate in price alignment across global accounts, channels and markets.
- Analyse the competition, our performance and our product offering, and make adjustments to ensure a winning category offering.
- Monitor category performance with regions/countries and collaborate on initiatives to support the agreed roadmap.
- Assist regions/countries with shelf planning and share global best practice in store execution.
- Ensure brand and packaging consistency within the category
Product development :
- Manage the NPD process, participate in the validation of the R&D process for category/channel projects.
- Feed the NPD process with new ideas and ensure that the pipeline is well filled.
- Build R&D or purchasing programmes in collaboration with other SUs to optimise costs and product offering for the category.
- Manage and co-ordinate innovation launches worldwide.
- Working with purchasing, R&D develops new concepts with external suppliers.
Packaging and layout design :
- Updating designs within the category to ensure distinctiveness and competitive advantage.
- Approving local packaging designs within the category, ensuring overall consistency of presentation, brand and product name.
- Product portfolio with new and innovative packaging formats; assessing industry trends and identifying relevant suppliers
- Carrying out consumer testing to ensure market acceptance
The profile we're looking for :
- You have an undergraduate degree in marketing, business administration or a related field (preferably an advanced degree such as an MBA or Masters).
- You have at least 3 years' experience in product management and knowledge of key trends, customers, competitors in the DIY/consumer sector and adjacent markets (construction, retail, etc.).
- You are a self-starter, able to adapt to a fast-moving market in a fast-paced and flexible environment.
- You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to identify sources of market information from internal and external networks.
