About the job
At Scaleway, we provide a large scope of cloud products to our customers. From dedicated servers to virtual machines, and baremetal cloud servers, storage solutions and many others. Hardware Engineering is a rapidly growing department at the heart of Scaleway’s infrastructure, offering a vast array of servers to our customers and internal teams. The Hardware Engineering department is responsible for most of the hardware activities of the company; from R&D and qualification to prototyping and rack level design, from tool development to hardware support, from designing to selection and documentation.
The Hardware Tech Lead interacts with the Product, Engineering, and Operations teams, as well as liaising with the different manufacturers.
Our objective is to provide our customers with the best products and solutions and ensure that they are built with the most adequate and reliable hardware. This implies that we must always be a few steps ahead so we can offer best-of-breed solutions, and bring them to market. Hence, we are always looking at next generation platforms and opportunities for our products.
Being part of a team reporting to the VP Hardware Engineering, your role will be to assess the systems and components from different manufacturers, test server hardware solutions, interpret and document results and educate internal teams on hardware.
Your input will be essential to validate the hardware assets ahead of the production phases in order to finalize design, confirm serviceability, define service levels, and industrialize the production of new offers.
