This position will be local to Toronto and will require attendance in the Downtown office once a week. This role is part of a consulting project with an initial duration of 2 months, which may be extended to a year.


Responsibilities

1. SAS AML Implementation and Maintenance: Design, configure, and maintain SAS AML 4.2 solutions to support the detection, investigation, and reporting of suspicious financial activities. Manage the end-to-end AML system lifecycle, including installation, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of SAS 4.2.
2. Data Analysis and ETL: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into SAS AML systems. Develop data models, risk-scoring methodologies, and scenarios tailored to AML compliance requirements.
3. System Optimization: Monitor and enhance system performance, ensuring scalability and high availability of the SAS AML platform. Conduct regular system health checks and recommend optimizations to improve processing efficiency.
4. Compliance and Regulatory Support: Work closely with compliance teams to ensure SAS AML configurations meet global and regional regulatory requirements, including FATF, OFAC, and FINTRAC guidelines. Support audit and compliance reviews by providing system logs, rule configurations, and transaction monitoring workflows.
5. Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT teams to align AML systems with organizational objectives. Provide guidance and training to junior team members on SAS AML 4.2 functionalities.
6. Scenario Development and Tuning: Design and implement custom AML detection scenarios to address emerging threats. Conduct scenario testing, tuning, and validation to minimize false positives while maximizing detection efficiency.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with SAS AML.
