Landor is looking for a People Manager for a fixed term contract to join our Paris studio.

Role Overview
As part of the Paris People team, the People Manager plays a vital role in providing commercially focused People management and advice to the business, that contributes to Landor Group's continued success in attracting, retaining, and nurturing top talent.
This role is key for supporting the development and execution of People strategy and initiatives across all aspects of the People function (Talent Management, Reward, Culture & Wellbeing, L&D, Recruitment & Retention) in alignment with both business objectives and regional market needs. The People Manager will provide high level support to the People Director and work collaboratively with local stakeholders and the Paris People Team to ensure that Landor maintains its reputation as an employer of choice and delivers a seamless people first' service to its employees.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
People and Team
- Provides trusted advice to managers and employees on day to day people issues
- Looks for efficiencies in our ways of working and strives to always make improvements
- Collaborate with the People Director and other key stakeholders to design, deliver, and implement People strategies that align with the company's overall goals.
Equity & Belonging
- Champions and drives the ambitions and goals around Equity and Belonging Globally, regionally and locally.
- Works with the team to achieve the target of recruiting diverse talent into the business.
- Works closely with the Building to Belong network to drive initiatives,
- Bringing new ideas and suggestions to contribute to and enhance our DEI agenda, proactively promoting and organising engaging events and activations in the Paris studio
Development & Succession Planning
- Identify training and development needs within the organisation and work with leaders to develop and deliver programs that enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Partners with the People Team, and WPP resources on Learning and Development strategy and budget, and coordinates learning and development opportunities. Ensures the team tracks attendance and other metrics, as agreed.
- Coordinates internal training programmes.
- Supports managers and employees with the performance management process - Continuous Conversations - including career development plans and advising and managing poor performance.
Policies & Compliance
- Ensure that HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in employment law and make recommendations for updates as needed.
- Ensure immigration compliance and efficiency, and that visa information is recorded and up to date and all relevant information.
- Ad Hoc reporting as required and monthly/quarterly compliance checks
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, handling more complex employee relations matters to mitigate risk to the business
- Independently manage and own complex performance management cases, redundancies, and disciplinary/grievance actions. Escalating to People Director for any very complex matters
- Managing performance issues in line with company policy
- Supports People Director with business change initiatives e.g. restructures
Organisational Design, Resourcing & Talent Acquisition
- Regularly reviews team structures, ensuring we are hiring for the right level, experience and skillset
- Manages and facilitates talent acquisition - managing open vacancies in partnership with the Talent team, monthly communications, reporting, immigration and visa applications etc.
- Carries out regular salary benchmarking exercises for roles we are hiring
- Managers new hire requests with Senior Managers
- Leads new role briefings with Talent team and Hiring Managers
- Manages the Headcount budget and ensures we stick within this
Competencies for Success
- Relevant experience as an HR generalist
- Experience managing employee relations and performance management is a must
- Comprehensive Employment Law (France) knowledge
- Attention to detail is key
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Adaptable to fast changing situations and environments, flexible and agile attitude
- Ability to effectively articulate and communicate at all levels
- Ability to work in a fast paced, professional and team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Innovative thinker
- Good HR management systems experience
