Description du poste :
This internship project aims to develop a proof of concept for circular plastic solutions in the automotive industry, addressing key challenges in ELV plastic recycling and promoting a sustainable, circular economy. The project adopts a holistic approach, targeting the entire value chain for automotive plastic components—from collection and dismantling to recycling, compounding, and reincorporation. Keys missions : State-of-the-Art Review of ELV Plastic Collection and Dismantling Strategies : Analyze existing practices and policies across Europe to identify effective strategies for ELV plastic recovery. Evaluate techno-economic tools to optimize the collection and dismantling of ELVs, with a focus on recovering higher-quality raw materials. Assess diagnostic methodologies to prioritize repair, refurbishment, and reuse of ELV parts, maximizing their value before recycling. Experimental Testing of Innovative Sorting Solutions : Develop a proof of concept for an advanced sorting line, for sorting black plastics and additives (e.g., flame retardants), integrating cutting-edge technologies such as: Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, Tribo-electrostatic separation, Sink-and-float methods, etc. Recycling and Compounding : Optimize recycling and compounding processes to produce automotive-grade recycled materials with controlled rheological and mechanical properties. Conduct laboratory characterization of substances in the recycled materials to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as REACH and RoHS .
